Wet Meadow Wildflower Seed Mix
Years of requests from enthusiastic wildflower gardeners led to the creation of our Wet Meadow Wildflower Seed Mix. A perfect solution for wet areas in your garden or meadow, this mix can even be planted along creeks and streams. Our Wet Meadow Wildflower Seed Mix includes all perennial wildflowers and grasses, including Helenium, Black Eyed Susan, Ironweed, Coneflower, and more, plus annual oats and rye to serve as "nurse crops." In the first season, annual Oats and Rye will reduce the incidence of weeds, prevent erosion, and prevent excessive sunlight from reaching the perennial wildflower seedlings while they are tender. Perennial wildflowers will show foliage in the first season while establishing their roots, and you can generally expect to see blooms in the second season. Year after year, they will mature and spread. If you would like to see colorful flowers in the first season while perennials are establishing, we recommend planting annual wildflowers that can tolerate moist soils, such as Cosmos, Zinnias, or one of our All-Annual Mixes: All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix - Variety or All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix - Bold Color.
