That ultra-compact habit means it plays nicely with others in a container situation or massed at the front of garden beds. Adding a tropical feel to your garden couldn’t be easier. Like all the cannas in the Cannasol™ series, ‘Happy Isabel’ is virus-free, a vigorous grower and a great hummingbird attractor. It will grow in light shade with moisture retentive soil, but prefers full sun – particularly near or in the shallows of a water feature. In zones 3-6, let the frost brown the foliage and then dig rhizomes to store in a dark, frost-free basement.
